4 Spring Getaways Near Auburn

Where Is the Best Place to Camp in Auburn, Alabama?

A quick drive from Auburn University will get you to Chewacla State Park. It has year round camping, hiking, biking, and waterfalls. Take advantage of the epic photo opportunity at the Chewacla Falls when you’re out on the trail. If you’re looking to pick up a new hobby, this is also a great place to geocache.

Another great camping adventure is located at the Tuskegee National Forest. It is just outside Auburn and offers over 10,000 acres to explore, which makes for a great place to hike and pitch a tent.

If you’re looking for a shorter trip to unplug for the day, check out Town Creek Park in Auburn. It has a pond with a walking trail and also has a dog park onsite. Lush greenery, a swinging bench, and great weather are all you need to relax on your day off.

Where’s the Best Place to Get Away Close to the Auburn Campus?

Want something a little closer to campus? The Donald E. Davis Arboretum is located at the south end of Auburn University and offers 13.5 acres of walking paths. It makes a great place close to home for you to have a picnic, take a stroll, or snap some photos.
